Two types of oil are recommended for the lubrication of Eadie PSM Rings. The Mineral Oils recommended are the hydraulic type with additional properties to inhibit against wear, oxidation, corrosion and foaming. They should also have a high viscosity index. The Synthetic Oils recommended for PSM rings are diester based. They are more expensive than mineral oils, but they provide high lubricity, good oxidation resistance and excellent thermal stability. Diester oils are miscible with mineral oils, and additives can be dissolved in them easily. The following oils are recommended by Eadie for use with our rings: | |
